Challenge
This project required the reconstruction of an existing 110 kV outdoor switchgear at a live high-voltage substation, in full coordination with NPC Ukrenergo, the national transmission system operator. Key challenges included designing under strict regulatory guidelines, integrating with live grid infrastructure, and delivering solutions for both the 110/35 kV step-down substation and collection system.

Services Provided
Voltage Group delivered a full range of engineering and design services, including:
Reconstruction design for the 110 kV switchgear at the 330 kV substation, including a new 110 kV feeder bay.
Design of a 110 kV high-voltage cable line to connect the substation with the wind power plant.
Engineering of a 110/35 kV transformer substation, with a 63 MVA transformer based on an H5 connection scheme.
Design of 35 kV cable infrastructure for internal wind turbine energy collection.
All documentation was developed in compliance with Ukrenergo standards, national regulations, and international best practices in renewable energy grid connection.
Outcome
The project was successfully completed on time and to full technical compliance, enabling the connection of a 40 MW wind farm to Ukraine’s high-voltage grid. Voltage Group was commended for its technical excellence, ability to work safely at active substations, and its transparent, solution-oriented approach.
This project highlights Voltage Group’s role as a trusted partner for complex grid infrastructure and renewable energy integration projects in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
